YouTube embed
-
I thought that I could do a YouTube embed within a wordpress.com blog. A brief forum search seems to confirm that. Yet when I paste the embed code into the HTML of my new post, it doesn’t appear.
What am I doing wrong?The code:
<object width=”640″ height=”385″><param name=”movie” value=”http://www.youtube.com/v/VPX7AfbCVBY?fs=1&hl=en_US”></param><param name=”allowFullScreen” value=”true”></param><param name=”allowscriptaccess” value=”always”></param><embed src=”http://www.youtube.com/v/VPX7AfbCVBY?fs=1&hl=en_US” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” allowscriptaccess=”always” allowfullscreen=”true” width=”640″ height=”385″></embed></object>
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There are at least three different ways to embed a YouTube video on a WordPress.com blog, but there’s only one that ALWAYS works. That is the shortcode:
[youtube=URL]
In this case, I believe that would be
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/v/VPX7AfbCVBY]
When staff are tinkering with the software, as they are recently, other methods can be temporarily broken. Here are the instructions for YouTubes:

Thanks. I found your response about that from 2006 later, but it didn’t show up on my first search in the forums.
